Course
There is a separate Start/Finish for this event. Timing for the 5K will be GUN-TIME Start. We highly encourage competitive runners going for a competitive time to "toe the line" and get up front!
Please help us out by being on time for this race! We're on a tight schedule to have the event broken down so Carrier Park can be enjoyed to the general public. Because of that, we cannot accommodate late participants. Late 5K participants will not be allowed to start after 8:05 AM, and late 1 Mile Fun Run participants will not be allowed to start after 8:20 AM.
The event is held at Carrier Park in Asheville, NC. The course is completely flat with mixed surfaces - off-road/wood chips surface, packed dirt and paved Greenway.
The course is open to the public during the event. We do expect foot traffic and possibly bike traffic during the event. Stay to the right of the path at all times. Please pass on the LEFT and call out when approaching someone walking or riding their bike on the path.
5K GUN-TIME Start: open for all participants to start at 8:00 AM and participants will not be allowed to start after 8:05 AM. We highly encourage competitive runners that are participating for the chance to win an award to please make your way to the first few rows at the starting line.
1 Mile Fun Run Rolling Start: open for all participants to start at 8:05 AM and participants will not be allowed to start after 8:20 AM. The 1 Mile Fun Run will be untimed.
Scroller friendly? The 5K course is flat with mixed surfaces including some dirt trails. Strollers and walkers are encouraged to position themselves in the back at the starting line.
Dogs allowed? Encouraged for 1 Mile Fun Run only.
