Help Morgan raise money

For participating in Hike for Hospice 2023

My Story…

Putting into words what our time at Rotary Hospice meant to us is a challenging one.  Of course, we didn't want to be in a position that required us to be there.  And yet, at the same time what a gift it was to quietly and compassionately be with Pauline, as she transitioned from her time on Earth to her eternal home in Heaven.

The care that the staff provided was exceptional.  They were professional, kind, and gentle.  They supported us, each step of the way.  They had a special way in how they delivered challenging news. They gave us the facts we needed but wrapped them in compassion and love.  They treated Pauline with dignity, respect, and gentleness. They coached her through the process of her body slowly preparing to leave this Earth.

The space was tranquil and peaceful.  Our children felt comfortable visiting and staying with Grandma. The room had floor-to-ceiling windows, letting in warm sunlight, a fireplace, and comfy chairs to sit and just be with Pauline.

Our experience is one that made a lasting impression on us.  That we would like to pay it forward to the next family who will be faced with the challenge of saying goodbye to their loved one.  Being at Rotary Hospice eases the burden of this goodbye.

Please consider donating in honour of our mom and grandma, Pauline.

Also, please note if you are local and would prefer to donate cash (to save the processing fee- we are happy to pick up your donation). Send us a message and we will make arrangements.

In addition, we will be selling greeting cards with a painting that the kids created for Gramma while she was in the hospital.  The painting traveled with her from room to room and eventually to Hospice.   She received many compliments on her "We Love You Flowers" and brightened up the spaces she was in, just like she did.  Proceeds from the card sales will also go to Rotary Hospice.
