My Story…
I’m hiking in memory of my mum, dad, and my Auntie Sheila - my mother’s sister - who passed away September 18, 2022 after a year of declining health.
Rotary Hospice is a peaceful welcoming place for those at their end- of-life and a place I wish my parents and Aunt could have benefited from in their final days. They would have loved the peaceful setting, the views of nature, and for my Aunt especially, she would have loved knowing that her favourite marmalade could be stored in the mini fridge in the room (there's a story there!). And, it would have meant my Uncle could have comfortably visited with her.
There is no cost for someone to stay at Rotary Hospice. However there is a cost to operate the hospice. Fundraising must cover 50% of fundraising costs - or roughly, $900,000 annually must be fundraiser locally.
Your donation ensures all those who call Rotary Hospice home are able to do so at no cost. Thank you!
