My Story…
Another year, another Aloha Run... NOT!
This year is extra personal. I have been with JCYC for more than half my life. Up until the end of 2022, that time has included Julie. Then she decided it was time retire ...grumble grumble, nah... she earned the right to do as she pleases!!!
From day one, Julie supported my growth and development here, listened to my crazy ideas, and BELIEVED in my ability to make a difference.
With the creation of the Julie Matsueda Believe Scholarship this year, JCYC will focus intently to nominate and partner with Chibi Chan students and be their Julie - supporting each on their journey towards and into adulthood by contributing significantly to their college savings, providing tuition free enrollment to Tomodachi camps and priority access to workforce opportunities and college access support. Most importantly, the scholarship with give each more chances to Believe themselves.
