4 & 6 STAGE RACE TRAILS |
Here is where we will put all the information you need for the race stages including maps and trail descriptions.
Shuttles are included in your entry and you can use as many shuttles as you would like.
Te Poaka - 4 & 6 Stage
Te Poaka is a grade 3 super flowy trail located at the top of Apumoana, next to Hot Cross Buns. It’s the yip and yahoo trail of the day and will be sure to put a big smile on your dial. But be careful as you can easily gain a lot of speed so make sure you stay in control and focus on the flow.

Upper Corners into Mā Te Wā - 4 & 6 Stage
Don’t worry we wouldn’t make you ride all of Corners. Instead you get to enjoy the best part of this grade 3 trial which includes flowy bermy corners before crossing the road into Ma Te Wa where the corners get tighter and bumpier. Not quite flow, not quite tech but if you push and pump in all the right places you’ll be flying.

Tūkonohi - 4 & 6 Stage
Tūkonohi is such a fun trail, it has great flow with a few lumps, bumps and corners to keep you on your toes. It has a short and sharp pinch climb in the middle, so make sure you're in the right gear or you'll be pushing your bike to get up it. After this it gets back into the fun stuff taking you down the rest of the valley, spitting you out at the bottom of Apumoana.
Upper Eagle v Shark into Back House Down - 4 & 6 Stage
This is a trail of two halves. There is fast and flow of upper Eagle, than a short sharp pedal to the start of Black House Down. Black House Down is all in the open so gets a bit dry and loose in places if the weather has been good. It's all go from top to bottom with ruts, a little bit of steepness and some chunck. Its all rollable, but one to challenge the skills. We think this one will be a favourite!
Te Ruru - 6 Stage only
Ruru is the Maori name for Morepork, who are known to fly silently in hunt for prey. But we guarantee you will not be silent down this trail. This janky grade 5 starts with a short sharp pedal to get the heart pumping then goes straight into techy goodness where the adrenaline will kick in. There’s the infamous skinny log drop and multiple off camber logs to give you those “oh s**t” moments. Commitment will ensure you stay rubber side down.

Tumeke - 6 Stage only
Tumeke is a grade 5 with lots of line choice & features. Hand built by volunteers who really put in all the fine detail. Tumeke, meaning too much or awesome, is exactly that to ride. There is a drop in the first third of the trail, if you can't drop it anticipate that you are going to walk it, get off early run over it and jump back on to continue shredding the gnar.
