Sierra Vista is a Community-Operated Critical Access hospital purchased on September 9, 1997. Providing emergency, clinical, and diagnostic imaging to the people of Sierra County. Originally owned and operated by nuns in the 1940s. We continue to grow and strive in providing the best care with state-of-the-art imaging equipment, a brand-new Emergency Room, and swing bed units. At Sierra Vista, we are more than just health care we are a part of the community, and we work to benefit the community. Sierra Vista Radiology Department brings multiple modalities. Such as X-ray, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, Bone Density (DEXA), Echocardiogram (ECHO), and Ultrasound.
Sierra County's Third Annual 5k is being hosted to help raise breast cancer awareness. Proceeds raised will be generously donated to Sierra County Cancer Assistance and other Cancer Associations. We hope you can join us in our Walk/Run for Hope against breast cancer.
We want to recognize our "Pink Ladies", they volunteer their hours and bring a smile to us all! They comfort families with information or a hug. They assist behind the scenes and they operate the unique and affordable Gift Shop. The Pink Ladies enrich the lives of our patients, families, and staff every day of the year. The gift shop will be helping sell Breast Cancer Merchandise. Their inventory changes often so come by and look around or just say "HELLO" to these Pink Ladies! Thank you for all that you do !!!

All participants will receive a 3rd Annual Sierra County T-shirt, medal and our annual souvenir dog tag after crossing the finish line. Each participant can raise money or receive donations on their behalf. To reach the next tier for more great prizes! To be guaranteed a T-shirt, you must register and provide T-shirt sizes by October 15, 2023, NO EXCEPTIONS. T-shirts will be distributed to registered participants on the day of pre-packet pick-up day Friday, October 20, 2023, in front of the coffee shop at SVH.

Day before event: October 20th, 2023 at Sierra Vista Hospital/Clinic in the main lobby in front of the Coffee Shop from noon to 5 p.m. (Please bring military ID at the time of packet pick up!)
Day of event: October 21st at event location starting at 8 a.m. for warm up and 8: 30 to begin the race!
All participants will be assigned a bib number with rip off tag. For us to properly time your race, our staff and video camera (if available) needs to be able to read your bib number as you cross the finish line. Race bibs must be worn on the outside of your clothing on the front of your jersey/shirt (as shown in the picture to the left). Please do not, crimple or fold the bib. If you do not wear the bib as requested, your finish may not be read properly, and no time will be recorded in the results.
You may keep your bib following the race. It does not need to be returned.
This event is offering $2 on every registration that you help bring in via your unique promotor code. For more info, clink here and learn how set up your promoter account.
NO Refund on race entry fees. (organization) does allow for race fees to be transfer to other race events if available.
We strongly suggest you purchase the race insurance during the registration in case you are unable to attend the race or race is cancelled. You can only purchase the insurance during registration!
Disqualifying participants for using other someone else Bib. Any participant who runs under someone else’s bib will be disqualified and will not be scored. For the safety of our runners, and in case of a medical emergency, it is imperative that the registration data associated with the race number belongs to the person wearing the bib. If race organizers become aware that a runner has participated in one of our events with a bib that is not registered to that runner, both the runner and the person to whom the bib is registered will be prohibited from participating in subsequent SVHC events for a minimum of two years.

Virtual Run
WHAT IS A VIRTUAL RACE?
A virtual race is a race that can be run (or walked) from any location you choose. You can run, jog, or walk on the road, on the trail, on the treadmill, at the gym, or on the track (or even at another race). You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself. And your medal will be shipped directly to you. Complete a virtual 5K, 10K, half marathon and more! Looking for “5K’s near me”? Come join us for Sierra Vista's Third Annual 5k. This event will be a beautiful Walk/Run through Sierra del Rio Golf Course. The trail is paved and will be marked throughout for all participants to navigate the course with ease. We will have water stations along the way and EMT onsite as well.
