Join the Mario Lemieux Foundation for the 2024 Dick's Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon to receive great prizes and help us raise funds for the Foundation's cancer research, patient care and Austin's Playrooms initiatives!

The Mario Lemieux Foundation is dedicated to raising funds for cancer research and patient care, as well as Austin’s Playrooms, an initiative that creates playrooms for children and families in medical facilities. The Mario Lemieux Foundation was created in 1993 by hockey legend Mario Lemieux. In that year, Mario was enjoying the greatest season of his brilliant career and on pace to establish a new NHL scoring record. Then he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease. After a successful battle with Hodgkin's, Mario is now over 30 years cancer free, and his experience led him to focus on ways to assist those not so fortunate. He devotes much of his time to the Foundation, raising funds to help reach the ultimate goal: a cure for cancer.

Minimum Fundraising Requirements

• Full Marathon – $500
• Half Marathon – $400
• Marathon Relay Team – $1,000
• 5K – $150
• Kids Marathon – $50
• Toddler Trot – $50
• Pet Walk – $50

- 2 Tickets to a Pittsburgh Penguins 2024-25 Season Game at PPG Paints Arena (game to be mutually agreed)

$2500 and Over

- Lemieux Foundation Running Shirt

- 2 Tickets to a Pittsburgh Penguins 2024-25 Season Game at PPG Paints Arena (game to be mutually agreed)

- Pittsburgh Penguins Jersey Autographed by Mario Lemieux or Pittsburgh Penguins player (randomly selected)

Relay Team Fundraising Prize Package

- Each team member will receive a Lemieux Foundation Running Shirt
