2022 Freedom Fun Run 5K
Jan Dils Attorneys at Law is thrilled to have put on the 2022 Freedom Fun Run 5K! This year, we offered both in-person and virtual participation options. The fundraiser benefited Veterans and honored their service to our country. We are eternally grateful for everyone’s support and participation in this event. Unfortunately, we were only able to host the 2021 event virtually due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and to ensure the health and safety of everyone involved. The Jan Dils Foundation was excited to host this event in person this year!
Our initial motive in launching this event was to do something special for the community that also benefited our Veterans. We hear the sacrifices Veterans have made and the sacrifices their families have had to make and want to do something to honor them. Jan Dils Attorneys at Law fundraises for Veterans throughout the year, with this event being our biggest and most exciting one of the year! In 2019, the race was held in downtown Parkersburg so that everyone in the community could be involved. In 2021, we offered the event virtually and were thrilled by how many people chose to participate! This year, we offered both options, with an in-person event on Saturday, July 9th starting at 8:00AM and a virtual 5K option starting on July 2nd and ending July 8th, 2022. All proceeds from the Freedom Fun Run 5K went to the benefit of Operation Transportation, We Have Your Six – Parkersburg Division, as well as a WVU Parkersburg Scholarship Program for Veteran Recipients. Every year we have received overwhelmingly positive support and feedback about this race. In the past we had up to 24 sponsors, 80 volunteers from throughout the community, and over 300 race participants!
Lots of planning went into this event but we had so much fun with it! We hope you’ll join us and support the cause as we continue to grow.

We had the honor of presenting two checks in the amount of $8,500 to incredibly wonderful organizations; Mid-Ohio Valley Transit Authority and We Have Your Six! A huge thank you to all of our participants and community sponsors for making the 2022 Freedom Fun Run 5K a success, and allowing us to help organizations that support Veterans!
MOVTA offers safe, clean public transportation services in Parkersburg and Vienna, with a focus on being both dependable and affordable. This check will be used to help pay for transportation passes for Veterans in the community, and we couldn't be more honored to assist with that.
WHY6 is an incredible organization that helps provide Veterans with suitable housing, clothing, food, healthcare, and other emergency assistance. This check will go toward the continuous efforts in providing that help for our community.
