Where and when is package pick-up?
Package Pick-up will take place at Run Calgary Headquarters (Unit 17, 1515 Highfield Cres. SE, Calgary AB) during the following times:
- Thursday August 29 - 4:00pm - 8:00pm
- Friday August 30 - 10:00am - 4:00pm (overlaps with Beat Beethoven Package Pick-up)
**Please note that these times are subject to change. Dates and times will be confirmed by email to all registered participants one week prior to the event date. **
Can I pick up for someone else?
You can send someone else to pick up your package. Please ensure they have your confirmation number with them. Please let us know ahead of time if you plan on picking up for 3 or more people.
Can I pick up on Race Day?
* No Race Day pick-up * If you are unable to make the package pick-up times, please contact us at info@runcalgary.com to make alternative arrangements.
If I paid to have my swag shipped, when will I get my package in the mail?
If you are participating virtually and paid to have your package mailed, we will be processing these packages on, or around, August 25th. If you registered after August 25th, your package will be mailed out after the last day of the virtual event. Please note that we aim to get your swag to you prior to the virtual event start date, however we are at the mercy of our suppliers and Canada Post, and cannot guarantee the arrival date.
- Accurate shipping information must be entered upon registration. We are not responsible for misdeliveries or lost swag due to participant error.
Can I get a refund if I can’t participate?
- All registration fees are non-refundable. No refunds, transfers, medical comps or deferrals under any circumstances. Selling your race bib, or having another person use your bib in the event is strictly prohibited. This act may seem well intentioned but has many negative implications to the organizers and participants including liability, timing, results, awards and many other factors. If a registrant sells or gives away their race bib to another participant, they will not be allowed to participate in future events.
- Protect your purchase by enrolling in the Race Roster Enhanced Refund Protection Program. Participants that enroll in the refund program will be refunded if they are unable to attend due to a variety of unforeseen circumstances, such as injury & illness, COVID-19, severe weather, work travel conflict, layoffs/termination or mechanical breakdown. Can I participate virtually in this event?
Yes, by participating virtually you can run it anywhere, on any surface and any time between Sept 1 - 8.
Is this a family friendly event?
You bet! We have youth-sized shirts, so you can gather up the whole family to participate together. Additionally, if you register three or more participants in one transaction, you automatically receive a group discount of 10%.
Is this an accessible event?

Where is the Event?
The Love is Love Mile is a point to point race with a separate start line and finish line.
Start: 9th Ave SW at 6th St SW
Finish: 9th Ave SE at 4th St SE, at Studio Bell
Where can I park?
Avoid parking tickets! Please note that runners are responsible for their own parking fees and this is not included in your registration. The Love Is Love Mile course takes place along the Calgary Pride Parade route and there will be numerous road closures in place. Please consider biking or using Calgary Transit. If you are driving, please plan ahead and give yourself extra time to travel through downtown Calgary and find parking. Parking on downtown streets is free on Sundays.If you are taking the LRT, please check the Calgary Transit website (https://www.calgarytransit.com/content/transit/en/home/service-updates.html) for service updates, closures and service disruptions.
When does the race start?
There are four different paced heats for the Love is Love Mile. Please ensure you are seeded accordingly. Your heat placement will be indicated on your bib, based on what you selected during registration.
Cheetah Heat - 10:30 am (under a 7:30 minute mile)
Hare Heat- 10:32 am (7:31 - 10:30 minute mile)
Panda Heat - 10:34 am (10:31 - 12 minute mile)
Tortoise Heat-10:36 am (12+ minute mile, walk)
Calgary Pride Parade Commencement- 11:00am
What time should I arrive at the event on race day?
Arrive early to partake in our pre-race festivities! Snap your photo with our MC & Drag Queen, get a glitter tattoo, and jam out with our DJ.
Please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes early in order to give yourself time to find parking, check your bags (if required), and get to the start line.
Will there be a bag check at the event?

Will there be porta potties at the event site?
Yes, porta potties will be available close to the start line on event day, as well as the finish zone
Do I need to wear my bib when I walk/run?
Yes, your bib must be visible from the front while on course at all times. Course Marshals are instructed to remove anyone without a bib on course.
Where will I be running?
You can find the course map HERE. This event is a point to point race along 9th Avenue, starting at 3rd Street SW and ending on 6th Street SE.
What are the amenities on course?
There will be Nuun and water available at the finish line and the Run Calgary Cheer Station.
Can I wear headphones while I run?
We discourage the use of headphones for the safety of the runner and the safety of those around them. If you choose to wear headphones, please leave one out or keep the music low enough to be able to hear directions from course marshals, courtesy calls from other participants and horns or other noises to alert you of risk. If a runner puts themselves or others at risk through an unsafe act that the Board of Directors determine was caused directly or indirectly through the use of the items in question, the race directors reserve the right to disqualify the runner.
Can I run with a stroller?
Yes, strollers are welcome for this event. Please note that unless a child is registered for the event, they will need to stay in the stroller for the duration of the run (for liability reasons) and they will not receive a medal and any amenities at the finish line.
Can I run with a dog?
We love four legged friends, but dogs are not allowed at this event. Looking for a dog friendly event? Why not register for the Dash of Doom, Calgary’s only evening Halloween event on October 26th. Please contact us at info@runcalgary.com if you have a special need.
What happens at the finish line?
When you cross the finish line, you will receive your medal, water, Nuun and a special treat!
If I’m participating virtually, where do I run/walk my one mile?
You can run/walk your one mile anywhere, on any surface and any time during Calgary Pride week, September 1-8, 2024.
How do I track my run if I’m participating virtually?
It is not not mandatory to track your time for the virtual race.
For those who wish to track their time, there are a number of tracking options, including RunKeeper which syncs automatically to your Race Roster account and the Leaderboard.
Tracking your time but don't want to use RunKeeper? You are welcome to run or walk using your favorite app or a good old fashioned watch. You will just need to ensure you make a note of, or take a screen-capture or picture of your finishing time. You will then need to manually upload your time and optional screenshot/picture to the Leaderboard.
Is there prizing for this event?
When you fundraise a minimum amount for any charity supported by a Run Calgary event you are eligible to win prizing. Fundraise to any of the levels listed and be entered to win at every level you achieve ($50, $100, $250). There will also be a fundraising prize awarded to the top individual fundraiser. Fundraising winners will be announced the week following the event date.
