Raise money for Royal Canadian Benevolent Fund / Support Our Troops / Soldier On
The Royal Canadian Benevolent Fund (RCNBF) was founded in 1942 with a mandate to provide distress relief for sailors and their families. Over time, the scope of this mandate has expanded to include all those who have served with and for Canada’s Maritime Forces. This support is available to our military and merchant navy veterans, currently serving members and their families. They are partnered with Veterans Affairs Canada, Support Our Troops and the Legion in their efforts to promote the well –being of the naval community.
Support Our Troops is the official charitable cause of the Canadian Armed Forces. It was established to meet the unique needs and special challenges faced by members of the Canadian Armed Forces community as a result of military service. Through its grants and programs, it is the most direct way for Canadians to support the recover, rehabilitation, and reintegration of members with a physical and/or mental illness or injury and to contribute to empowering family resiliency.
The Soldier On program is a highly visible and integral program of the Canadian Armed Forces Transition Group. Since its creation in 2007, Soldier On has supported over 10,000 ill and injured serving and veteran military personnel with a permanent or chronic disability (visible or non-visible). This support enables participating members to attain an active and healthy lifestyle. Soldier On supports these personnel by helping them increase their independence, by challenging them to develop new skills and achieve new goals, and by opening the door to other life opportunities. Soldier On, supported by generous Canadians, furnishes an opportunity for its ill/injured members to socialize and explore common interests, and share learning experiences through peer-based program delivery.
