ELIZABETH 8K is a family-friendly event with a competitive course hosted in Charlotte, NC. Taking place each Spring and welcoming over 1,000 runners to one of the city's oldest and most beautiful neighborhoods, the Elizabeth 8K has been a Charlotte favorite for almost 4 decades. The race starts and finishes just off of Elizabeth Avenue with the majority of the route weaving its way through the historic, tree-lined streets. Participants have several events to choose from:

An 8K timed race for the competitive type: This course provides a fantastic tour of the scenic residential and commercial streets of the Elizabeth neighborhood.

A 1.5M untimed run/walk for the casual participants: Join your friends for a brisk walk, go for a jog with your kids, or just get outdoors for a nice stroll through the neighborhood with your coffee.

The Liz Kids’ Fun Run for the little ones: Even the little ones can get in on the action with this FREE fun ~50-yard dash. It’s for kids six years of age and younger, and no registration is needed.

Proceeds benefit the beautification of the historic Elizabeth neighborhood, and TreesCharlotte, a public/private nonprofit collaboration to grow, diversify and steward Charlotte's iconic urban forest.
