Hi 5k participant,
We're just one day away from the Q Fitness and Wellness 5K! Get ready to lace up your sneakers and make a difference on Sunday October 20th. at 11 am. We can't wait to see you there!
Event Details:
• Date: Sunday October 20th. this is a rain or shine event
• Time: Race starts at 11am.
• Location: McAlpine Creek Park: 8711 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212
What to Expect:
• Race Course: Scenic route through the park; Trail consists of dirt and gravel areas.
• Pre-Race Activity: Get ready for the race by participating in a 10 min. warm/stretch session presented by Juan; yoga instructor at Q Fitness and Wellness at 10:45am.
• Post-Race Festivities: Enjoy live music, complimentary snacks, special discounted beverages available from Detour Coffee Bar from 11am-2pm.
• Awards Ceremony: We'll be honoring top finishers and recognizing all participants for their support at 12:15pm.
• Vendors: Support local businesses and explore a variety of vendors offering unique products and services from 12pm-3pm.
• Special Features: Enjoy a complimentary 10 min. massage from Moon Massage Therapy starting at 11:45am.
Parking: Free parking is available located upon entry into the front gate of the park.
Arrival Instructions: Once you arrive, park in the public parking area. Walk towards the entrance closest to a small bridge and keep straight. (there will be a balloon or a sign on the bridge to signal that you are going the right way). Once you follow the path towards the center of the park you will find the covered structure where registration and packet pick up will take place.
Restrooms: There will be designated public restrooms at the entrance of the park.
A porta- john will be available located near the start of the course.
Packet Pickup: You have two options to pick up your race packet
Option 1:
• Location: Q Fitness and Wellness: 3508 The Plaza, Charlotte
• Date and Time: Saturday October 19th. 12pm-3pm
Option 2: (Race Day)
• Location: McAlpine Creek Park (packet pick up table located near the covered structure)
• Date and Time: Sunday Oct. 20th. 8:30am-10:30am
Important Notes:
• Please arrive early to allow ample time for parking and registration.
• Don't forget to wear comfortable running shoes and bring your race bib.
• We encourage you to bring a water bottle and sunscreen to stay hydrated and protected.
• We encourage you to wear insect repellent as some of the course take place in a wooded area.
Your participation will go a long way in supporting Lionel Lee Jr. Center for Wellness and Time Out Youth in achieving their mission to provide necessary services to our community.
