One for the big guys and girls. Males over 100kg and females over 75kg (without the bike.) You will be weighed after the race if required. You have to be a solid 100kg or 75kgs. If we need to weigh you, we will.

126km - Ross to Greymouth Race you can race your e-Bike.
E-Bikes Race, this is not age categories just Male and Female.
Your E-Bike must be pedal assist, no throttle. This will be a Race in the 126km from Ross to Hokitika and will start at 7:45am 15 minutes before the conventional bikes. If you get caught by the convential riders we do not wanting the E-Bikes to mix it up with these riders.
To qualify for this category your E-Bike must be defined as a bike under the New Zealand Transport Authority's definition of a power - assisted cycle which is:
(a) a vehicle that has at least two wheels and that is designed primarily to be propelled by the muscular energy of the rider; and
(b) includes a power-assisted cycle.Power-assisted cycle means a cycle to which is attached one or more auxiliary propulsion motors that have a combined maximum power output not exceeding 300W.
2. With the Race being 126km, we are allowing you to take as many batteries as you like and these batteries must be carried with you throughout the ride, not to be dropped to anyone if they go flat,. Flat batteries and/or charged battieries you start with must be carried all the way to the Finish.
3. Technical assistance from the outside during the race is not allowed, this includes getting additioanl batteries..
4. Must be factory limited. No added dongles/attachments are allowed that will result in the computer being misread to achieve a higher speed. Bikes will be inspected prior to the race by a bike mechanic and it will be his call if a bike doesn't qualify, so please do not try anything..
These rules must be respected, no E-Bikes with throttle assistance will be allowed to be ridden.
