Our story…

The Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation was established to help ease the transition from military to civilian work for the Special Operations Community. Inspired by Glen's love of learning, we aim to bring personal advancement into the lives of as many Special Operators as possible. We accomplish our mission by providing scholarships to Special Operators, from all branches of the military, for higher education or professional training/certification. To date, we have awarded scholarships to 117 amazing individuals, totaling over $875,000! Our scholars have earned Bachelor's, Master's and Physician's Assistant degrees, MBAs, MDs, JDs and PhDs. They have trained to become commercial pilots, state troopers and NASCAR pit crew technicians.


This is our 5th year running as a Numbers for Nonprofits official charity partner of the ASICS Falmouth Road Race! Team GDMF always has fun and the funds raised go directly towards a new class of scholars, who we welcome each August.
