Ambassador Handbook 2024
Welcome to the 2024 Seattle Marathon Ambassador Program, we are thrilled to have you! Below are some details and guidelines for the team. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you might have to Hannah@seattlemarathon.org
We know you're excited, but please hold off on sharing the good news with others until we make our official announcement on March 15th
In the meantime, please email hannah@seattlemarathon.org a photo to be put on the SMA website along with any social media handles you would like to have listed.
Ambassador packets will be mailed out by the end of the month, please confirm your mailing address as well as your shirt size and preference (short sleeve, long sleeve, or tank top).
Social Media
You are invited to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable. Please tag us in your relevant posts (@seattlemarathon #runsea) we’ll re-share our favorites! We also greatly appreciate Ambassadors liking, commenting, and sharing posts from the SMA page.
*It’s important that when referring to the full/half marathon in December you call it the UW Medicine Seattle Marathon as they are the title sponsor.
Facebook Group
You will receive an invitation for the 2024 Seattle Marathon Ambassador Facebook Group. This is a place for everyone to connect and share training tips, races you plan on attending, schedule meetups ect.
Please remember when sharing on social media to be kind and courteous. We’re all in this together to create a welcoming environment and sense of comradery. Hate speech and bullying of any kind will not be tolerated.
Discount Code
You will receive your personal discount code shortly. Feel free to share it as much as you want with whomever you want! Once you have 10 people register with your code you will receive your comped entry to the UW Medicine Seattle Marathon or Half Marathon. At the end of the year, the top 3 Ambassadors to bring in the most registrations will receive a special thank-you gift.
Volunteer Requirements
All Ambassadors are required to Volunteer at the following events:
UW Medicine Seattle Marathon Health & Fitness Expo
November 29th & 30th at the Westin Hotel
Volunteer shifts are:
November 29th 10.30am-3:30pm & 3:30pm-8pm
November 30th 11am-3pm & 3pm-7pm
Seattle Kids Marathon
November 29th Seattle Center 7 am-10:30 am
Extra volunteer opportunities are always available for anyone who would like to participate. The following is a list of upcoming
Partner events are events put on by other running companies that SMA attends and has a booth space. Michelle Graham is typically the staff member attending. A volunteer shift for these types of events is typically 6 or 7 am until the event gets close to wrapping up usually around 1-2 pm. You will be posted at the booth with Michelle talking to runners about our events and answering questions.

Early packet pickup on Friday, June 21st at Super Jock N Jill Green Lake. Help the SMA team get runners signed in for our Summer Event! 3 pm-6 pm

Saturday, June 22nd at Seward Park
Volunteer shifts range from 6 am-2 pm
There are always extra volunteers needed the week of the UW Medicine Seattle Marathon at the Westin Hotel, specific opportunities will be available closer to the date but Wednesday the 27th is usually an option.
Group Runs
All Ambassadors are welcome to attend meetups and group runs. The first one will be happening in April, keep your eyes on the Facebook group for details!
