...OUR MISSION

The Fondation of l'école secondaire Gérard-Filion is a financing and institutional advancement tool available to the school and the community. Its role is to support the educational mission of Gérard-Filion high school and to expand its reach in collaboration with its internal and external partners.  Given Gérard-Filion's very high dropout rate (42%), it was essential to give meaning to the school's young people so as to better support them until the end of their studies, whatever that may be.

Year after year, the Foundation fulfills its mandate through :

• Fundraising campaigns;
• Benefit activities;
• Alumni activities.

It ensures that the funds raised are distributed fairly and transparently according to its development plan for projects in one of the following areas:

Student support (scholarships, extracurricular projects, etc.);

Support for students' families and the community (Christmas baskets, reimbursement of expenses charged to parents, etc.).

Acquisition and updating of special facilities and equipment (sports equipment, scientific or technological equipment, etc.).

Finally, it relies on the commitment of its volunteers and rigorous management to minimize administrative costs so that the funds raised fully benefit the students and their families.
