Race Rules
- Race Briefing - all riders must attend the race briefing onsite on the morning of the event.
- An approved cycle helmet must be worn at all times when riding either on the course or within the event area.
- Abusive Behaviour - any physical or verbal abuse will not be tolerated and will result in a time penalty or disqualification.
- Passing Etiquette – riders must pass on the right and let the rider know they are overtaking - call 'coming through'. If more than one rider is passing call 'riders coming through'. If you are being passed or have riders behind you, move to the left and let the riders through when there is an opportunity. While the track is mostly single track there is room if slower riders pull to the left. Deliberately blocking the track to prevent other riders passing will not be permitted.
- Safety - No portable music devices with earphone used whilst riding.
- Assisting with an Injured Rider - in the first instance you must stop to offer an injured rider assistance. If this impacts severely on your lap time, then please see an official in the main tent regarding amendment.
- Shortcuts - any rider caught taking a shortcut will be disqualified and if a team rider, that team will also incur lap penalties.
- Protest - any protests must be lodged with the Race Director up to 30 minutes before & 5 minutes after the race finishes. His/her decision is final.
Race Numbers & Timing Tags
- Race Numbers - must be displayed on the front of the rider's bike
- Timing tags will be provided & must be returned at the end of the event. Failure to return timing tag will result in a replacement chage.
E-Bikes
- No e-bikes allowed to compete in the 6hour race, only the 4hour race.
- E-Bikes must meet NZ Legal requirements and not be modified to allow speeds over the NZ legal regulations.
- E-Bike riders must also follow the passing etiquette above and allow others past
General Rules
- No riding on the rugby fields or around the rugby club car park.
- Helmets must be worn at all times when riding your bike, otherwise push it.
- If you arent doing your race lap you must keep your bike clear of the timing mats. Failure to do so may result in incorrect results
- As this is a family friendly event appropiate language must be used at all times.
- Any abuse to officials, volunteers or other teams will result in instant disqualification for yourself and your team if you are part of a team.
- To receive any prizes you must attend the prize giving.
- Timing Transponders must be returned at the end of the event otherwise a replacement fee will apply.
- It is your responsibility to ensure you have enough hydration & nutrition to last you for the race (Water maybe available but this isnt guaranteed).
The organisers reserve the right to make changes to the event.
