Raise money for Camp Shriver at UMASS Boston
Today, children with disabilities are included in our schools, neighborhoods and communities. But what does inclusion really mean?
At Camp Shriver, inclusion means that every camper can learn and play together--every time and at every activity! That's why since 2006, Camp Shriver at the University of Massachusetts Boston has welcomed children, 50% with and 50% without intellectual and developmental disabilities, ages 8-12, from low-income families in the Boston area to a free inclusive summer recreational camp.
A national model for inclusive recreational programming, Camp Shriver’s mission is to improve the social, emotional, and physical well-being of children of all abilities, by providing an inclusive community of friendship and fun. At Camp Shriver, children with and without disabilities build social skills and positive social relationships by learning and playing together.
All the funds raised by our fantastic Team Camp Shriver members will directly support over 150 children at camp this summer or in our school year program, Saturday Camp. With your support, and the support of these amazing individuals running for children with disabilities, we will make sure that all children can learn and play together!
