General Information
- There are NO lockers available; arrive prepared to run
- Plan to arrive early, as you can expect delays in travel, parking, and getting into the starting pack
- General Parking is located in the parking lots across the street from the amphitheater.
- Toilet facilities are available in many areas.
- Dress warmly and appropriately, as the race will run by the water.
Road Closure Information
- Road Closures will begin at approximately 9 am
Safety Alerts
- No pets are allowed anywhere on the race course.
- No bicycles are allowed on the race course.
- Stay on the race course! Do not shortcut onto sidewalks or yards to get around other runners, as this can cause injuries and damage to personal property.
- Walkers and strollers, please stay at the back of the start line.
General Security
G-Force Security and the Bridgeport Police Department will be on the scene to ensure the safety of all participants. Our objective is to ensure the safety of all participants and spectators.
- Bags will be subject to search.
- Please only leave backpacks, containers, or bundled items at home. Unattended items left within the restricted area will be confiscated (see below)

Wearing Costumes
The Vicki Soto 5k celebrates Vicki's life and legacy, including her love for flamingos. Over the years, runners in flamingo costumes have become a tradition at the race and contribute to its festive atmosphere and spirit.
We respectfully urge runners who wear costumes or carry signs or props during the race to exercise sound judgment and be considerate of others.
Walkers
Walkers are welcome in the Vicki Soto 5k. If you'd like to walk the course, please assemble towards the back of the race start line before the start of the race.
We are often asked if there is a race fee for walkers. The answer is a definite YES. The only difference between a walker and a runner is the time it takes to finish the race. Walkers, like runners, provide safety, road closures, restrooms, and other race functions. Their fee also helps support the Vicki Soto Memorial Fund.
Cancellation
The Vicki Soto 5k will be rain or shine.
Delay
In the event of a short-term delay at the start of the race, announcements will be made by megaphones and announcer messages at the start/finish line.
Virtual Road Race Registration
- Virtual Race Registration opens on Thursday, August 1, and closes on October 1 at 11:59 pm.
- Fee: $40
- Race Registrations are Non-Refundable
- Each shirt will be mailed out the week before the race to the address given at registration.
- Race shirts can and have been sent anywhere across the world!
- If you sign up for the virtual option, you cannot change it to an in-person registration past October 1.
- We encourage you to share your pictures from your 5k with us on social media @teamvickisoto.
Parking & Restrooms
PARKING
- Parking is included in the ticket price.
- Handicap parking is available on-site. Please have your placard visible, and the attendants will direct you to the designated area.
- Any unauthorized vehicles on site after an event will be towed at the owner's expense.
- General Parking is in the parking lot across the street from the amphitheater.
Restrooms
- Restrooms are located on the lower concourse.
No shower or locker facilities exist, so please come dressed to run.
