Empowering Parents in Crisis (EPIC)

EPIC (Empowering Parents In Crisis) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting parents so they can effectively support their young people facing significant challenges. Launched on World Kindness Day in 2021, EPIC emerged from the isolation, confusion, and helplessness parents often feel when trying to help their struggling children.

EPIC recognises parents as the first responders in their child's life, especially during times of crisis. Our mission is to empower these parents and carers by providing a safe, non-judgmental community where they can connect, share experiences, and access valuable resources. Through peer-to-peer support, education, and culturally inclusive practices, we help parents build the capacity to better support their young people.

Operating in the Northern Sydney Region, EPIC's work is essential in ensuring that parents are equipped to navigate the challenges their children face. By fostering a supportive network, EPIC supports parents and contributes to the broader community's understanding of the critical need for parental support in youth mental health and crisis situations.

Donations received by participating in the Spin-a-thon will enable EPIC to expand peer parent outreach and crucial Youth Mental Health First Aid training.
