Please note, age is your age on the date of the event.

The 4 stage consists of grade 3-4 trails. The 6 stage will be the same 4 stage trails plus 2 extra grade 5 trails.

All E-Bikers please enter the E-Bike category only. This category will not have age divisions

Age Restrictions

10 years old is the youngest rider permitted to enter the event. All riders 10-13 years of age MUST be accompanied by an adult rider unless agreed upon by event organisers.

The Mud Maidens are the proud trail builders and maintain Mayden Voyage. We have a core group of ladies who regularly get out after work to maintain this trail to keep it running mint.

Adoptees are an integral part of the trails and are committed to maintaining them. Many adoptees spend hours in the forest digging, tidying and riding/running their trails.

The Rotorua Trails Trust are a non-profit organisation and reply on adoptee, volunteers and donations to keep the trails maintained and extend the ever growing network of trails.

We are proud to be able to support the Rotorua Trail Trust by giving you the option of donating an amount of your choice upon registering for the event.

The concept is simple: get yourself to the top of a mountain and race to the bottom time-trial style.

The timed portions of the race are mostly downhill but can vary in steepness, length, and difficulty. Between each stage, there will be untimed “transfer stages” this is where you decide to either shuttle or pedal to the next stage. This is also your time to snack and chat with mates as you make your way to the next stage.

It is up to you to decide what order to complete the stages in, there is no right or wrong way but there will be a better way. But keep an eye on your watch because there will be given a set time (TBC) to complete the race stages and return back to the finish before you begin to accumulate a time penalty.

Division podium place-getters will be those riders with the lowest accumulative race stage times.

Answer……I’m doing the Mud Maidens Enduro mountain bike race in Rotorua
The next question……Will you win?
Will I win………. What is winning? To a normal person winning is coming first, standing on the top podium, beating everyone else in race.
To a mountain biker winning has a totally different meaning……. Winning is entering your first ever Enduro race. Winning is standing on the start line with your mates excited and nervous. Winning is nailing a technical section that you have never ridden before. Winning is giving each other high fives at the end of each stage. Winning is crashing, picking yourself up, wiping off the dirt, getting back on your bike and carrying on. Winning is by some miracle pulling back control of the bike and saving what was going to be a major stack. Winning is grinning from ear to ear as you fly down the gnarly trails. Winning is taking a wrong turn on your first run and having the determination at the end of the day to complete the stage again. Winning is completing the race unshuttled. Winning is getting a podium spot in your age group. Winning is completing your first race back from serious injury. Winning is enjoying a cold beer with your mates after the race. Winning is getting your name called out for a spot prize. Winning is sharing war stories from the day that was. Winning is signing up for the next race.

So the answer to the question……yes I will win, I did win and so did all the other women who competed that day.
