ABOUT FRIENDS OF CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL
Friends of Children’s Hospital, founded in 1989 by a group of dedicated volunteers from across the state, supports Mississippi’s only children’s hospital—Children's of Mississippi—by driving fundraising, growing volunteerism and building awareness. Since its inception more than 30 years ago, Friends has raised more than $45 million to purchase equipment, construct new facilities, and provide vitally important services for pediatric patients in Mississippi.
NEEDS WE MEET
Friends of Children’s Hospital is committed to elevating the healthcare experience for children in Mississippi. Throughout the year, we fund a variety of projects at Children's of Mississippi, from building new facilities to enhancing services that support the emotional and developmental needs of pediatric patients and their families.
Recently, our contributions have supported major updates, including new infusion suites at the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders and a new activity room in the Blair E. Batson Tower. We also provide iPads through the MyChart Bedside Program in patient rooms, helping families communicate with doctors, order meals, access entertainment, and more.
In addition to these projects, Friends funds the salaries of Child Life Services team members and hosts fun, interactive events throughout the year, helping make the hospital a place where kids can just be kids—full of joy and laughter along their healing journey.
