To be guaranteed a t-shirt by race day, registration must be received by May 31st. If you register after this date, you may not receive your shirt until after the race. If that is the case, you will receive an email notification with a date and time to pick up your shirt.

The Save-A-Pet Furry Friends 5K & 6-Legged Walk will take place rain or shine! However, in the case of severe weather, the live event will be cancelled for safety reasons. If the decision is made to cancel, an update will be posted on the Save-A-Pet Website, Save-A-Pet Facebook Page, as well as the 2025 Furry Friends 5K Race Event Page and 2025 Furry Friends 5K Facebook Event page. You will also have the option to be partially refunded to match the virtual and live walk registration fee, or donate the refund amount to Save-A-Pet and our animals. If you registered for the either the virtual or live walk, no refund will be provided.

About Save-A-Pet:

Save-A-Pet is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and one of the largest no-kill cat and dog rescues and adoption center in Lake County, IL. We provide a safe haven for abused, neglected, injured, lost, or animals that have been saved from euthanasia. We never put a limit on the amount of care we provide for an animal and we never give up on them. Save-A-Pet offers rescued dogs and cats the greatest opportunity for a second chance.
