1. What is the Run for Punjab?
The Run for Punjab is a 5K charity run taking place on Saturday, October 4th, 2025, at St. Patrick’s Island Park, Calgary. The event raises funds for families impacted by the devastating floods in Punjab, with all proceeds going to SAF International.
2. Who can participate?
Everyone! The run is family-friendly and open to all ages and fitness levels. You can walk, jog, or run at your own pace.
3. Is it a timed race?
No. This is a self-timed, non-competitive community run. The focus is on participation, unity, and fundraising for Punjab flood relief.
4. How do I register?
Registration is available online through our event page. Same-day registration will not be open. Please Register before October 4th.
5. How much does it cost to participate?
There is a $5 fee + processing fees and a minimum $15.00 donation. Proceeds go directly to SAF International (excluding the processing fees).
6. Can I donate without running?
Yes! If you can’t attend, you can still support by donating directly through our registration/donation page.
7. What should I bring?
Comfortable running or walking shoes
Reusable water bottle (please note there will be no water stations on the route)
Weather-appropriate clothing
Lots of energy and community spirit!
8. Will there be parking available?
Yes, parking is available near St. Patrick’s Island Park. We also encourage carpooling or using public transit.
Paid parking is available in Calgary Parking Authority lot, Zoo West Lot #8302. This lot consists of 250 parking stalls that are shared between St. Patrick’s Island users and The Calgary Zoo patrons. Refer to the Calgary Parking Authority website for current rates.
9. Will there be food or refreshments?
Light refreshments will be available after the run during the community gathering.

12. Event Itinerary
8:00 AM – Volunteer Arrival & Setup
Volunteers check in and set up registration tables, signage, and sound system.
9:30 AM – 10:30 AM – Runner Check-In & Registration
Participants check in with Race Roster registration email confirmation.
10:45 AM – Welcome Remarks & Warm-Up
Short opening speech about the cause.
11:00 AM – Run Start
Official start for the 5K Charity Run.
Self-timed, non-competitive.
12:30 PM – 1:00 PM – Community Gathering & Closing Remarks
Light refreshments served.
Thank-you speech to participants, sponsors, and volunteers.
Group photo opportunity.
1:00 PM – 3:00 PM – Event Wrap-Up & Teardown
Volunteers clean up and remove all equipment.
Event site restored to original condition.
