Raise money for Variety the Children's Charity
With a mission to empower children with disabilities to live life to the fullest, Variety the Children’s Charity provides life-changing mobility and communication equipment to ensure our most vulnerable kids are no longer left out, left behind, or excluded.
Variety offers three adaptive equipment programs for eligible youth and families who may consider one, two, or all three pieces of equipment. These programs are truly opening new-found possibilities for kids and their families to live healthier, safer, and more fulfilling lives at home, school, and throughout the community!
1. Variety’s My Bike® Program provides new Rifton adaptive bikes (including stationary stands and prescribed accessories) to eligible children with disabilities, so they can experience the joy, freedom, and belonging from riding a bike – including the therapeutic and recreational benefits.
2. Variety’s My Stroller® Program provides Convaid EZ Rider adaptive strollers to eligible kids with disabilities to increase their mobility, inclusion, and safety - especially for ambulatory kids living with elopement issues and no safety awareness. An adaptive stroller allows for easier “on-the-go” mobility and participation in daily activities for the child and their whole family.
3. Variety’s My Voice® Program provides a communication device (i.e., a restricted iPad with a prescribed communication app) to eligible children who are nonverbal (or have a communication disorder) to ensure they are never without a voice.
Since Variety must raise the funds to provide every piece of custom-made equipment, any donation amount makes a difference to help us, help even more kids!
Our programs are truly meeting unmet needs and filling critical gaps, as we aim to improve the child’s social inclusion, health and wellbeing (including their safety), relationships with family and friends, as well as many more benefits on an individual level.
Over the last 12 years, our mobility and communication programs have become institutionalized throughout our service area. With the incredible support of the community and established partnerships, My Bike, My Stroller, and My Voice have provided nearly 8,000 adaptive bikes, adaptive strollers, and communication devices (worth more than $12 million in equipment).
