My Story…
ARYSE stands for the Alliance for Refugee Youth Support and Education. If you’d like to learn a little more about my involvement with ARYSE and what they do, keep reading!
I have the incredible privilege of serving as a Board Member for the last few years and I can say so much about the incredible work ARYSE does to support the immigrant and refugee youth in the City of Pittsburgh.
ARYSE is the only organization in the region focused on supporting forcibly displaced youth in becoming engaged, confident, and celebrated members of the Greater Pittsburgh community. Through their After School Club, Girls Art and Maker Group, Youth Steering Committee, Post-Secondary Support, and annual summer program, PRYSE Academy, ARYSE provides critical support for academic success, leadership skills, creative expression, and personal growth.
Through this year’s Marathon fundraiser, ARYSE is seeking donations to directly to fund programs, supporting about 200 youth, covering costs related to academic success, career readiness, language access, creative expression, and field trips.
Description
This year, our goal is to raise at least $30,000 through the marathon campaign, which will cover the essential expenses for our program like student transportation, interpretation and translation services, hot meals, and personnel. Thanks to donations from hundreds of individuals and local foundations, the program is completely free of cost to participants. Support from our marathon runners and their networks will help us keep it that way.
