My Story…
I am competing in the 2025 Pittsburgh Marathon race to fight against homelessness in Pittsburgh. Will you help me? Maybe you are like me; I am fortunate to have a warm and safe place to sleep each night. Not everyone is this lucky. I can’t solve the homelessness problem, but I can do something, and you can too! Together, we can care for our neighbors in need.
The Light of Life Rescue Mission has been serving Pittsburgh's homeless population through meal ministry, safe shelter, and life recovery programs since 1952. I am inviting yinz to donate to my race and help the cause. Any money that you donate will go to the Light of Life Rescue Mission and help our neighbors. Come on dahntahn and cheer me on! I will be riding my handcycle for the 26.2 miles. If you see a little old lady on a red handcycle speed by, just think about how we worked together to help our neighbors. That’s right, we yinzers stick together!

Since 1952, Light of Life Rescue Mission, a non-profit 501(C)(3) organization, continues to transform lives for women, children, men, and families experiencing homelessness, poverty and addiction. Light of Life is the place where hope and healing meet. We are igniting transformation through truth-based programming with our continuum of care and the love of Christ. Our goal is to restore those in need to healthy members of our community.
Last year, the impact we made together included:
- 500,000+ meals provided through our kitchen & food pantry
- 3,000 unique guests served through our emergency shelter
- 558 chapel services
- 22 Program graduates & completions
- 300,000 items distributed through our donations center
