My Story…
This year I will be running my first half marathon and partnering with the Alliance for Refugee Youth Support and Education. They're an organization based in Pittsburgh, PA that serves local refugee youth in the Pittsburgh area with a spirit of justice, creativity, determination, and resourcefulness. Alongside their PRYSE Academy, which is designed "to provide a culturally competent and articulated curriculum to support the academic, social, and emotional development of each student," they offer an after school club, future planning workshops, and an LGBTQ+ Initiative and Queer Youth Space.
ARYSE provides a stable and safe environment for kids to learn, grow, and express themselves. Please help me support them in their efforts to continue their mission and expand their operations to reach more people in need. My initial goal was to raise $1,000 over the next three months, and with your all's help with got there almost over night. My new goal is to raise another $500 ($1,500 total), and I know with your help we can get there!
Description
This year, our goal is to raise at least $30,000 through the marathon campaign, which will cover the essential expenses for our program like student transportation, interpretation and translation services, hot meals, and personnel. Thanks to donations from hundreds of individuals and local foundations, the program is completely free of cost to participants. Support from our marathon runners and their networks will help us keep it that way.
