I Run to Cure CF!
I have never found running to be an easy sport to pursue. I really have to push myself every year to do this race. It is just this challenge that pushes me to my finish line because I am competing not for a medal but for creating more support and awareness for cystic fibrosis and our goal to cure this disease once and for all.
I have run the 5k, the pet race and the half marathon (with a broken hand, LOL) and it has been a challenge and a reward each and every time. The CF Foundation is much more disciplined in their approach to the "Cure CF finish line". They have an amazing game plan and training has been underway since 1955. This disease is relentless to those who fight it every day.

Description
Cystic fibrosis is a rare, genetic disease found in about 40,000 people in the U.S. causing persistent lung infections and limiting the ability to breath over time. Those living with this disease are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends, and co-workers --all struggling each day just to breathe and live normal, healthy lives.
While there has been significant progress in treating this disease, there is still no cure and too many lives are cut far too short. By participating in the Pittsburgh Marathon on behalf of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, I run to help add tomorrows to the lives of all people living with cystic fibrosis today.
