I Run to Cure CF!
I decided to run the marathon in celebration of Brayden! He is our CF Champ! It was not long ago that parents could not realistically expect their children with CF to live to adulthood. Brayden just turned 18!!!
When he was little he called us the "4 Freund Family" because we did everything together! All four of us have navigated this disease with him and by God's grace will get to continue to do that for a long full life-time!
The CF Foundation was started by parents who had very little hope that their children would live full lives. Because, of the work that has been done and the generosity of friends, family, and because of compassionate people--like you--some day soon CF will stand for "Cure Found!"
I appreciate your celebrating Brayden's remarkable grit, perseverance, and hope for a long blessed and healthy life, by supporting my efforts of running the Pittsburgh Marathon to raise funds for this amazing charity--CFF! The efforts of the CFF and people like you have truly been life-saving to kids like Brayden and families like ours!
Description
Cystic fibrosis is a rare, genetic disease found in about 40,000 people in the U.S. causing persistent lung infections and limiting the ability to breath over time. Those living with this disease are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends, and co-workers --all struggling each day just to breathe and live normal, healthy lives.
While there has been significant progress in treating this disease, there is still no cure and too many lives are cut far too short. By participating in the Pittsburgh Marathon on behalf of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, I run to help add tomorrows to the lives of all people living with cystic fibrosis today.
