My Story…
I’m excited to announce that I’ve signed up for Pittsburgh’s half marathon and fundraising for a great cause, the Parkinson’s Foundation of Western Pennsylvania.
As a physical therapist that has been treating patients with Parkinson’s disease for about 8 years, I’ve had the opportunity to build a lot of great relationships with so many patients that suffer from this disease as well as their families and caregivers. If you have a loved one with Parkinson’s, you know first hand how limited treatment options are. You also know how much support patients, caregivers and loved ones need. There is no better source of support for patients and their families than the Parkinson’s Foundation of Western Pennsylvania. I’ve seen all they do to provide education and resources to patients and their families, as well as provide as a sense of community so that no family or person has to go through this alone.
I am running and fundraising for all my friends with Parkinson’s, but especially my friend and patient, Michael Woodring, who recently passed away from complications of Parkinson’s disease. Woody’s sense of humor always brightened my day and his positivity was always an inspiration to everyone he was around❤️🖤❤️.
