Help Devonte raise money

This year, I’m taking on the Steel Challenge; competing in both the 5K and Half Marathon to support Urban Impact Foundation, an organization making a real difference in the North Side of Pittsburgh. But for me, this journey is about more than just crossing the finish line; it's a reflection of my own story of resilience, faith, and purpose.
I’ve faced battles that many wouldn’t expect just by looking at me. I’ve undergone two open-heart surgeries, challenges that tested not only my body but also my spirit. For a long time, I questioned why God placed these obstacles in my path, but through every trial, He revealed His plan for me. I’ve learned that my strength isn’t just physical—it’s spiritual. Through my journey, I found my purpose in God, and now I run not just for myself, but to make an impact for others.
Urban Impact shares that same mission—to invest in lives, to uplift those facing struggles, and to bring hope through Christ. Since 1995, they have been transforming the lives of at-risk youth and families in Pittsburgh through Athletics, Education, Performing Arts, and Career Options. This past year alone, they reached 2,250 students, and over 1,100 people made life-changing commitments to Christ.
Their mission is to fulfill Christ’s Great Commission by holistically investing in young lives, empowering them to become responsible followers of Christ. Their vision is to change the community one person, one family, and one block at a time—creating a ripple effect that impacts the world.
I’m honored to run for this cause because I know what it means to overcome, to fight, and to trust God’s plan. Every step I take in the Steel Challenge is a step toward hope, opportunity, and transformation for the youth of Pittsburgh.
