My Story…
My son, Joshua, was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG,), a brain stem cancer, in early October 2008. He passed away 2 months later. Before his diagnosis, he was a very healthy and active boy. Josh enjoyed playing sports, watching movies, riding his bike, playing with friends, and many other things that a healthy 8-year-old enjoys. I learned about Prayers from Maria in 2013, when I was training for my first marathon. I learned that this wonderful charity was started by a family who lost their daughter at the age of 8. This organization's goal is to educate people about this disease, and to raise money to help find a cure. Through Prayers from Maria, I have met many great families who have lost their children to DIPG. I will be running the Cleveland Half Marathon on May 18th, as part of the Prayers from Maria Sunflower Striders team. My goal is to raise money to support research that will once and for all defeat this disease. Would you please consider a donation?
