Race Route and Maps
We are pleased to share the route for our 2025 race! For returning participants, the checkpoint locations and stages should look pretty familiar, with a few key changes:
- We have a new finish line! We're excited to announce that the 2025 Full Relay will finish at the Aurora Family Leisure Complex in Aurora! This is a great location that is convenient for many of our participants.
- As previously announced, Trail Hub in Uxbridge will serve as the finish line for the Half Relay and Checkpoint 9 for the Full Relay. This will also serve as an excellent "Mid-Race Hub" for our Full Relay racers and support crews as a place to coordinate, regroup, socialize, and unwind between stages of the relay.
- In addition to a new finish line and Trail Hub, we have an additional new checkpoint location for this year's race. The penultimate checkpoint of the Full Relay will be at Evans Park in Aurora, serving as a gateway to the Klaus Wehrenberg and Tim Jones Trails for a "sprint to the finish" final stage of the race.
- Due to a current gap in the Trail, there will be a small gap in the route this year. Stage 3 runners will arrive at Checkpoint 4- In at Ganaraska P2 Parking Lot, and outbound runners will depart just a few km up the road from Checkpoint 4- Out at Old Highway 35 & Beaucage Road. Teams will be granted stop-time to complete this transition if required or can use a "radio handoff" to send off the outbound runner from Checkpoint 4- Out upon arrival at Checkpoint 4- In.
Our goal with this year's course was to showcase as much of the Oak Ridges Trail as possible, keep the feel and sport balance of the race similar to the past, while also incorporating a couple of new features and working around some obstacles associated with a hiatus. We hope you're excited to get to planning and let us know if you have any questions!
For this year's race, the total distance and number of stages for each sport closely matches past races:
- Full Relay
- Canoe- 1 stage, 8km total
- Bike- 6 stages, 94km total
- Run/Hike- 7 stages, 56km total
- Half Relay
- Bike- 3 stages, 54.5km total
- Run/Hike- 4 stages, 35km total
