Castle Alpine Trail Race Update
Hi |*FIRST_NAME*|,
We are just a few days from the 4th annual Castle Alpine Trail Race! CAT is a favourite of both racers and our crew, so we are really looking forward to seeing you out there.
If you have not reviewed the details, take a look here.

CHECK-IN
Check-in happens on Friday from 5:00-8:00pm. If you cannot make it out to the resort that early, please book a time to check in on Saturday morning from 6:30-8:30am. Don't show up at the last minute, though, or you will not be checked in before the start.
We will have the racer meeting at 7:00pm Friday to let you know any final details.
SWAG
We goofed and left the 2023 swag photos on the website. This year everyone is getting a great little camo PFAK (personal first aid kit). We designed it to have a bunch of the essentials for a fast hiker, but there is enough room to add your own supplies. Hopefully, you won't have to use it!
FLAGGING
The flagging we use at CAT is similar to our other races, plus a few extra things.
- Yellow stakes with red/white arrows
- Pink and silver reflective, reusable ribbon
- Orange or blue pin flags (the orange ones blend into the fall foliage in some spots)
- Junction signs telling you which way to go
- Funny signs mocking you... in a friendly way ;)
WEATHER
Castle just had 4" of snow up top... but don't panic. This is not completely unusual for this time of year. By Saturday, we will be getting temperatures of 31˚C, and everything will clear up. That is the wonder of living in the Rockies; you never know what you will get.
Besides, if you cannot find joy in the snow, you will have less joy but the same amount of snow.
GORD'S RUNNING STORE
Gord's Running Store is one of the top sponsors of CAT, and they will be on site so you can pick up those final supplies. Gord himself will be handing out medals to everyone at the finish line, so you can get a chance to say "hi" to this Alberta running legend.
If there is something specific that you want Gord to bring, let us know and we will pass the message along to see if we can make that happen. Also, check out their Facebook page, and join up with their community runs - what's better than running together?

PHOTOGRAPHERS
We will have photographers all over the course, and you get complementary social media-sized images. Our goal is to get at least one photo of every competitor. There are also the same images in high-resolution available for a couple of bucks, in case you want to have it printed.
THE BRIDGE
The Bridge Sports Therapy and Training will be at CAT to do some last minute tune-ups on your aching bod. If you haven't met the team from The Bridge, they can help you with all the essentials components for a training plan, injury prevention, and recuperation if something goes sideways on you (literally or figuratively).
Stop by their booth and get some hands-on time with the crew!
LIVE MUSIC
CAT isn't just a race, it's also a bit of a season-ender for us. This year's musical entertainment will be the talented Eve Lacey. Eve is from the local area, and she sure has a lot of positive energy, so I hope you will enjoy her performance from 2:30-5:30, which leads us right into the awards. https://www.facebook.com/evelaceymusic
After the awards, join the race crew for a fire and beverage at the T-Bar Pub.
See you soon! It's almost taper time.
Kindest regards,
Brian Gallant
