Thank you for considering the giving of your time and energy by volunteering. This community run event would not be possible without your help!

And what a great way to be part of a race without actually running. You will be able to cheer on the runners or congratulate them and gain experience at the same time. Various positions are available at various times. All volunteers will receive the 2025 Bum Run swag as well a a post-race snack. If volunteer community hours are needed, letters will be issued (or school forms will be signed) by the Volunteer Co-ordinator when signing out.

Once your registration has been received, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. Further instructions specific to your assigned position will be sent approximately 2 weeks before the race date.

• Distribute to participants their number bib, race shirt and other relevant materials before the race

• Set up, organize, and distribute the materials in an efficient manner

• Have a pleasant customer service demeanor

• Labeling and organizing runner’s belongings when they drop off and retrieve them in the timely manner at the end of the race

• Watching over (and protecting) runners’ belongings during the race

• Having patience and organizational skills. Able to work under stress for a brief period. Be friendly and welcoming

• Assist with tear down and clean up

• Ensure the safety of the participants

• Direct runners along the route

• Inform any non-authorized vehicles that roads are closed for two hours (by authority of the City and Police)

• Minimize interference with the race from traffic/pedestrians

• Cheer on and encourage participants as they pass by – “Great pace! Keep going!”

• Return to event site and assist with tear down and clean up

• Hydrating the soul

• Handing out water to runners and spectators before, during, and after their race

• Encouraging runners and cheering them on

• Cleaning up the station afterwards

• Distribute medals to participants after their run

• Set up, organize, and distribute themedals in an efficient manner

• Have a pleasant customer service demeanor and be congratulatory and friendly

• Assist with tear down and clean up

• Feeding hungry post-race runners! Help to set up the types of food and efficiently distribute them to finishers as they come through gradually

• Make sure everything is restocked and loaded

• Cleaning up

• Assist with tear down and clean up of event site

• Hydrating the soul

• Responsible for handing out water to runners and spectators before, during, and after their race

• Cleaning up the station afterwards

• Assist with the set up of equipment, barriers, signs, tents, etc.

• Unload supplies, carry equipment to proper location

• Work with a team to ensure proper set up of tents, tables, chairs, etc.

• This person is flexible and can work in a fast-paced environment, doing many tasks

• There is no definite position, however serves as a substitute for a volunteer who is absent or late

• May be reassigned numerous times to different tasks depending on where the need rises

• Has excellent communication skills and enjoys moving to different jobs
