The 2025 Muskoka Marathon, an Athletics Ontario-sanctioned race, will take place on Sunday, October 5th, at Santa’s Village in beautiful Bracebridge, Ontario.
Run through breathtaking autumn colours along the stunning Muskoka River on a certified 2027 BQ course, built for speed and personal bests.
Scenic & Speedy – A picturesque river route where every stride brings you closer to your fastest finish.
The 2025 Muskoka Marathon offers distances from 5 km to 42.2 km on flat, scenic courses along the Muskoka River, ideal for runners of all levels.
The children’s fun runs at Santa’s Village are back, with one free admission to the theme park on October 5th. Little ones can dash around the go-kart track while older kids take on a 1 km (ish) adventure through the park.
A race for everyone - fast times, fall colours, and a great day of running in Muskoka.

A 2025 Muskoka Marathon – Community Update
Single-lane restrictions are in effect for the Muskoka Marathon on Sunday, October 5, 2025.
Access to properties and businesses is maintained at all times.
Dear Resident,
Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation, as details for the Muskoka Marathon were confirmed this week. This letter provides notice of single-lane restrictions along Santa’s Village Road, Beaumont Drive and Wellington Street on October 5, 2025, for the Muskoka Marathon race route.
There will be no full road closures – but lane closures and one-way access will be in effect during the day on Sunday, October 5, 2025.
Residents will have access to properties at all times. Race organizers continue working with unique circumstances to accommodate needs and ensure the safety of all while the race is underway. In support of this, please see the map at the bottom of the letter to clarify the closure and race route.
The below areas will be well signed during restrictions, and we ask that motorists follow the posted signage to reach their destination during this one-day event.
Santa’s Village Road
- Lane restrictions are from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Santa’s Village Road is accessible via the Westbound Lane (one-way access from Muskoka Road 118 Wellington to Golden Beach Road).
- The westbound lane will always be open (farthest from the river and closest to most houses).
- The eastbound lane (closest to the river) is closed to allow participants a safe running area.
- Businesses and residents will have access to properties at all times.
Wellington Street (near the bridge)
- Lane restrictions are from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Southbound traffic only (towards Highway 11).
- No Northbound traffic (northbound traffic will be directed east along Ecclestone Drive or West along Beaumont Dr.
- Businesses and residents have access to properties at all times.
Beaumont Drive
- Starting 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Beaumont Drive will be open to Westbound Traffic between Muskoka Road 118 Wellington to Stephens Bay Road).
- Two-way traffic between Stephens Bay Road and Kirby’s Beach Road (the event turnaround point) will be managed via traffic control flag persons.
- Exit Beaumont Drive via Stephens Bay and Stagecoach Road (One-way traffic to Muskoka Road 17).
- Businesses and residents have access to properties at all times.
- The Beaumont Lane restrictions will be lifted as the final participants exit this portion of the race course.
Additional Information
- The event will include OPP traffic control at the Muskoka Road 118 Wellington and Santa’s Village and Beaumont Drive intersections
- Traffic control flag persons will be located at the Beaumont Farm Road, Stephens Bay Road and Kirby's Beach Road intersections to accommodate two-way traffic.
- Signage and traffic delineation cones/barriers will be installed to ensure participant safety and provide motorists with directional information.
Please be advised that this event will delay any travel times and trips through the area. We ask that you add travel times to any planned trips to allow safe traffic movement during the Marathon.
