Raise money for Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario
ALL PLEDGES DONATED TO: POGO ( The Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario)
To whom it may concern,
I am a Pediatrician in Kitchener Waterloo and the Founder/Chair for the Kitchener Kids With Cancer Run. This annual event raises money to support childhood cancer through The Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO). As a pediatrician, caring for children with cancer, I see first hand how this horrible disease affects not just the child but the whole family. Families lives are put on hold, jobs are lost, family incomes are drastically decreased, and school years are lost. These wonderful and inspirational children, however, go on fighting and thanks to all the treatment research (supported by POGO), we have great success rates.
The funds raised will provide financial assistance to families so they can pay for out-of-pocket costs associated with their child’s treatment, support survivors with customized school and work counselling when their disease or its treatment has left them with learning challenges, and fund promising research that examines the impact of childhood cancer and its treatment.
POGO brings cancer care into our community through the POGO Satellite Clinic at Grand River Hospital and the Interlink Nursing Program. POGO has a total of 8 Satellite Clinics across the province so that children can receive cancer treatment and medical management closer to home.
This annual event is celebrating its 12th year. To date with your help, we have raised over $600,000 and we continue to be one of the top fundraisers for POGO. What a great way to support these young children and their families with the fight of their life.
Please consider donating to this event. We need your help to make this race a success!
The kids and I thank you for your support.
