My Story…
I am running the Philadelphia Marathon for those who are and were affected by cancer and support of a great organization, the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) https://www.aacr.org/ . We all know a loved one, close friend, fellow service member who was or is affected by cancer. On November 23d, my “Fight Club” teammates and I will contribute by taking on the Philadelphia Marathon to raise funds for cancer research through AACR.
Through its programs and services, the AACR fosters research in cancer and related biomedical science; accelerates the dissemination of new research findings among scientists and others dedicated to the conquest of cancer; promotes science education and training; and advances the understanding of cancer etiology, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment throughout the world. AACR is headquartered in Philadelphia, with offices in Boston and Washington, D.C.
Please join me and my team and put meaning in our 26.2 miles by raising funds for lifesaving cancer research. For every person who donates $25 or more, as a special tribute, I will add their name (or the name of a loved one) to my race-day shirt and carry them with me through Philadelphia.
Thank you for your contribution. – “Joe Cool Runner” --
