New this year, we are introducing a Green Bib! This gives participants the option to participate in our race and forgo receiving a swag bag and medal. If a participant chooses the Green Bib option, a $7.50 donation will be made to Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities and the Calgary Health Foundation (donation split between both charities), in lieu of a swag bag and medal.
We are making steps towards a more sustainable event and asking athletes to be a part of that journey should they choose to opt in. The Green Bib is another choice you can make to customize your race day experience to fit your needs and goals.
Do I get a tax receipt?
- No. We will be making a donation on your behalf but because you are still receiving a service in return (the event), this is a non-charitable donation according to CRA rules.
How will event organizers and volunteers know I don’t want a t-shirt or medal?
- Your bib will have a distinct marking/sticker that will identify you to volunteers as a green bib registrant.
What happens if I change my mind? How do I switch from a Green Bib to a Regular Bib?
- If you decide to switch from a Green Bib to Regular Bib, or Regular Bib to Green Bib, you can do so online up until April 24, 2025. You can initiate a transfer by accessing your Race Roster dashboard and follow these steps. If there is capacity in that event, you will be able to transfer anytime up until April 24, 2025.
