Welcome to The Royal Challenge where you can *Race for FREE!
The Royal Challenge is a 21km ski paddle, 21km run adventure race held within the Royal National Park and Port Hacking river, Sutherland NSW raising funds for various charities.
The event is open to people over 16 years and can be completed as an individual, two or four persons teams. Gun start at 9:30AM Sunday 4th May 2025.
How to Race for FREE
We want you and your team to raise funds for your chosen charity. To incentivize you, we will return your individual or team entry fee should you reach the below donation targets on your official RC25 Fundraising Page before midnight 4th May 2025.
- $2,000 target for Individual competitors
- $4,000 target for 2 person team * must set up team fundraising page
- $8,000 target for 4 person team *must set up team fund raising page
NB: If an individual in a team raises over $2,000 BUT, the team they are in does not reach team target - no refund will apply
Race Categories
**Team Registration
To enter a team, the first team member must create the team name and a unique team code during registration. Once the team is set up, this code must be shared with all other team members. Each subsequent team member will need to enter both the team name and the team code when registering to ensure they are correctly added to the team.
Individual: You do the whole thing!
2 Person Relay 50/50: A team relay where members share in both running and ski paddle legs - E.g Team member "A" completes ski Leg #1 and run leg #3. Member "B" completes run leg #2 and ski leg #4.
2 Person Relay "Specific": A team member will complete either the run legs#2&3 or ski legs #1&4.
4 Person Relay: Each team member will complete 1 leg - (note, we will allow a team of three to compete in this category

Other Important Information
- A detailed competitor book will be provided closer to race day
- Park entry costs are required to be paid separate to entry fee
- PFD must be worn and whistle taken during ski legs
- Spec SLSA and Ocean Skis, leisure kayaks permitted. K1 or race "sit in" kayaks not permitted.
- Water must be taken on ski and run legs
- Ski and run labels will be provided and must be placed on craft or person
- A WhatsApp group will be created to help with communication
