Boston Community Pediatrics (BCP) is the first nonprofit pediatric private practice in Massachusetts.

Why I’m Running for Boston Community Pediatrics

I am excited to be running my first Falmouth Road Race this year to support Boston Community Pediatrics. Jason and I have been supporters of BCP since it was a seedling of an idea and I am  proud to be running to support an organization that is truly changing lives. I support BCP’s commitment to health equity and believe that every child deserves compassionate, comprehensive care, no matter their background, circumstance, or zip code to ensure all children have a fair chance at a healthy life. Please join me in supporting BCP’s commitment to providing their pediatric patients with the highest quality healthcare and bringing equity to pediatric healthcare. Your  support is critical now more than ever! Thank you!!

Description

BCP provides patients with access to comprehensive, relationship-driven pediatric primary care. There is a BCP medical provider on call 24 hours/day, seven days a week. BCP’s appointment times are longer than standard; a typical visit at BCP includes at least 45-60 minutes with an experienced, well-trained physician. Patients and families may also meet with a mental health clinician, a care navigator, or a family partner, who then spends another 60 minutes of individualized time with them. BCP providers are culturally diverse and culturally sensitive, and many staff identify as bilingual and bicultural. By leaning into the relational aspect of medicine, BCP providers are able to meet patient families where they are and create customized treatment plans. Recognizing that they are not experts in the lives of patients or their families, BCP providers partner with patient families, working together to shift health outcomes for Black and Latinx children and youth with low-income.

This is a critical time for BCP - the challenges facing healthcare and BCP families are more significant with ongoing policy shifts and daily uncertainty. Access to quality pediatric care is and will become increasingly more difficult for many families due to federal funding cuts and attacks on Medicaid. Just last week, one of our grants abruptly ended. By running for BCP in the Falmouth Road Race, I am helping to ensure that vital programs and services continue to reach those in need, regardless of these external challenges. Your donations will directly contribute to strengthening BCP’s ability to provide the highest quality integrated primary care, behavioral health care, and care navigation and wellness services to all children—especially at a time when it’s essential to protect and advocate for them most.

Join me by donating to Team BCP for the 53rd annual Falmouth Road Race to help secure all BCP has achieved and to continue setting a new standard for how pediatric care should be delivered to all children.
