Our story…

Imagine if you could change the life of a teen by lacing up your shoes, and going for a run.

At Dreamfar, we make life-changing opportunities for teens in Greater Boston possible through the unique combination of mentorship, and a distance running program that opens up doors to what is possible.

We believe that there should be no barriers to the sport of distance running.

We believe that a pair of running shoes can change the direction of your life.

We believe that mentorship is a powerful tool for the betterment of ourselves and each other.

We believe that no matter your background or ability you are welcome at Dreamfar.

Our mission is bold. Our program is provided at no cost to every teen that registers. We start every season at square one. This way every teen who shows up gets the same opportunity to build mental and physical fitness, build community, and develop the ability to believe in themself. Dreamfar is funded entirely by donations, fundraising, and grant funding.

The impact of our program is communicated best in the words of our student mentees who share their stories at the conclusion of their season culminating run.

Full Marathon Finish Line Feelings

Learning to Make Adjustments & Finding Success in the Half Marathon

Overcoming Obstacles: Winning A Division in the Full Marathon

During the 2024-2025 season Dreamfar engaged with 75 students from six Greater Boston high schools who chose to practice after school and on Saturdays to prepare for an end of season event of their choosing. Between March and May of this year, 56 student mentees will take part in events ranging from the 5K to the full marathon.

Founded in 2008 Dreamfar has operated for 17 consecutive seasons and served more than 1,000 teens across Greater Boston through a unique combination of mentorship and distance running. Our mission is to help teens develop physical and mental wellness, community, and confidence to pursue their goals and dreams.
