Below are brief role descriptions. Further instructions will be provided in the lead up to Pride Run.
Bag Drop
Oversee bag drop for volunteers or participants wishing to leave a bag while they run/walk. For security, you’ll need to stay in the bag drop area the entire time.

Your finish time: around 10:00 am
Water stations
Oversee the provision of water to runners.

Bib distributors
Hand over bibs, pins and any pre-purchased merchandise as participants say their bib number. For this volunteer role, you can both volunteer and run/walk the event as long as you’ve paid for a ticket.

Finish time: around 8:30 am
Finish line marshalls / participant medal distributor
Hand medals to all participants wearing a bib and keep them moving through the finish line.

Finish time: around 9:45 am, once the sweeper finishes.
Face painters / glitter gods
Apply supplied makeup to consenting participants. For this volunteer role, you can both volunteer and run/walk the event as long as you’ve paid for a ticket.

Course Safety Checker
Run a lap of the Tan before the race and let us know of any safety issues. For this volunteer role, you can both volunteer and run/walk the event as long as you’ve paid for a ticket.

Welcome Marshalls
Be on hand to welcome participants and point out the locations of the bib pick-up marquee, bag drop, bathrooms and starting line. For this volunteer role, you can both volunteer and run/walk the event as long as you’ve paid for a ticket.

Event start time: 8:30 am
Your finish time: around 8:45 am after the event commences
Course Sweeper (3 – one for each race distance / type)
Be the last runner or walker to help us confirm that everyone has finished.
Arrival time at Pride Run Village: 8:00 am
Event start time: 8:30 am
Your finish time: Once the final participant has crossed the finish line.
Course Marshall / Cheer Squad
Direct participants and cheer them on.
Arrival time at Pride Run Village: 8:00 am
Event start time: 8:30 am
Your finish time: Once the course sweeper has been past.
Course Cyclist
Stay in front of lead runner and clear the course ahead.
