Meet Tilly – our Tails in Motion team mascot! 🐾 

Tilly is a special cat who proved early on that she wasn’t going to let anything slow her down - even when the odds were stacked against her. 

Her journey began at the shelter in the summer of 2024 when she and her three siblings arrived as tiny kittens. Shortly after their spay and neuter surgeries, all four became very sick with a severe upper respiratory infection. It took more than a month for them to recover. 

Just when things were finally looking up, Tilly started walking strangely and favouring her back legs. Radiographs revealed the cause: her kneecaps had slipped out of place, a condition called medial luxating patella. 

Tilly was placed in a long-term foster home while our team consulted with orthopedic specialists about her future. Surgery was a possibility, but since she wasn’t in pain, the best plan was careful monitoring while she continued to grow. 

During that time, Tilly did what cats do best - she stole the hearts of her foster family and found her forever home. 

Today, Tilly is living her best life and reminds us every day that resilience comes in all shapes and sizes. That’s why she’s the perfect mascot for our Tails in Motion team - cheering on every step, stride, and kilometer run in support of animals just like her. 🐾🏃‍♀️ 

Because every animal deserves the chance to keep moving forward.

Dollars raised from our fundraisers will go to support Bide Awhile's mission of providing compassionate care, rehabilitation, and a safe haven for companion animals in need. We believe they deserve respect, dignity, and a chance for a happy life regardless of age, health status or breed.
