Heart disease has touched my family in a very real way. My grandfather passed away from a heart attack, and it’s something that has stayed with me over the years. Knowing that heart disease runs in my family has made me more aware of how important it is to take care of my health and stay active. In many ways, this run is part of my effort to break that cycle.

This May I’ll be taking on the challenge of running the Sun Life Marathon. It’s a personal test, both physically and mentally, but also an opportunity to do something meaningful.

The race raises funds for the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation, which supports vital cardiovascular research and programs that help prevent, treat, and better understand heart disease.
