Mon histoire…
With projects in some 30 countries, CECI is an international organization working towards a future where women and young people fully exercise their rights and leadership in terms of economic opportunities, climate change adaptation, education, and health.
On April 18, I will be running 5k (with Elijah and Mara!) to support women in Mali who are facing the impacts of climate change, insecurity, and economic hardship. The funds raised will be used to provide training, tools, and practical support to women so they can develop new economic activities such as harvesting honey, growing vegetables, or turning moringa leaves into herbal tea, tamarind into juice, shea nuts into butter, and grapes into oil. Support for income-generating activities like these enables women in Mali to strengthen their leadership and financial independence, which is so essential to their well-being and that of their families given the structural inequalities they face, which are compounded by conflict and insecurity, climate shocks, and restrictive social norms.
Any donation, big or small, can make a real difference. Thank you for your support!
