11 years ago, I was diagnosed with myelofibrosis and given just months to live. But thanks to a stem cell transplant from my sister, Karen, and the exceptional care at the MUHC, I’m here today—celebrating 11 years cancer-free. With the help of Dr. Popradi, Dr. Storing, Dr. Ho, and the incredible team at the MUHC, I underwent life-saving treatment, spending six weeks in isolation and receiving the strongest chemo available to prepare for my transplant. Their groundbreaking research and care gave me a second chance at life. I’m forever grateful to my sister, Karen, for being my perfect match, and to my daughter, Jaden, for her unwavering inspiration. I’m also thankful to my family, friends, and supporters who were by my side every step of the way.
