Mon histoire…
Hi, I'm Sana Qureshi, a nurse on the Hematology Oncology Stem Cell Transplant unit at the Royal Victoria Hospital.
For seven years I've cared for patients facing one of the hardest journeys of their lives, and every day I'm humbled by their strength. I've held hands through the toughest conversations, and watched families put their trust in treatment, and in tomorrow.
This work has taught me not to take health, time, or an ordinary day for granted. It's shown me how much we still need research and better treatment.
This will be my first marathon, and I'm running 10km with my patients in my heart, for the battles they fight quietly everyday. I'm running to raise funds for stem cell research, which gives patients with blood cancers and other serious illnesses a chance to rebuild their bone marrow and immune system, and get a second chance at life.
