My Story…

Hello, my name is Sana Qureshi, and I am nurse on the Hematology Oncology Stem Cell Transplant unit at the Royal Victoria Hospital.

For the past seven years, I have had the honour of caring for patients facing one of the most difficult journeys of their lives. Every day, I witness strength that humbles me. I see courage and resilience in unimaginable uncertainty. I have held patients hands during the hardest conversations, and supported families as they place their faith in treatment and in tomorrow.

Working on this unit has deepened my gratitude for health, for time, and for the simple gift of waking up each day. It has shown me how desperately we need continued research and advancement in care.

This will be my first marathon, and I will be running 10km with my patients in my heart. I am running for the battles they fight quietly and bravely. I am running to raise funds for the stem cell research, which offers patients with blood cancers and other life-threatening illnesses a chance to rebuild their bone marrow and immune system and, with it, a second chance at life. Help me support this cause by donating and sharing this page with others. Please know that it truly makes a difference. Thank you for being part of something bigger than this race.
